STELLA MARIS; BILLY BLUE; 33 GREENWICH RD DEVELOPMENT
A proposal has been lodged with the Council for the redevelopment of
the Billy Blue accommodation site on the corner of River and Greenwich
Roads.
The proposal is for a 62 unit, 8 storey block set in the corner at the
traffic lights. A copy of the proposal brochure may be examined in the
Greenwich library. It has been arranged for the applicant to address
Greenwich residents at the GCA meeting on 20/08/03 and to answer any
questions we may have.
This proposal, at the gateway to Greenwich Peninsula, is important both
to the aesthetics of the community and to its effect on traffic. Please
express your views on the proposed development that will be there for
the rest of most our lives, if erected.
Applicant John Shepherd

LANE COVE CAR PARK + LIBRARY EXTENSION
Alternative proposals are now on display in the Plaza (in the old Clancey’s
store) and in our libraries. Council proposal is for a stand-alone car
park, while the Woolworths proposal provides car parking and a supermarket.
Both schemes provide for a much-needed library extension. The proposals
and a report on the financial costs and benefits of each scheme will
be on display until about 5 September. After this, there will be a period
of public consultation prior to a decision at the Council meeting on
20 October.
All who care about Lane Cove are urged to view and comment upon these
proposals. Full details on Lane Cove Council's website (accessible through
www.greenwich.org.au) and in Greenwich Library.
