Has there been anybody who has given more in so many different ways to Greenwich? Bob has always been involved. He is probably best known for his organisation and support of the Greenwich Sports Club. So many children over the years have benefited from Bob’s guidance and enthusiasm in one or more of the Sports Club’s teams.

FRIENDS OF GREENWICH SCHOOL and GREENWICH SCHOOL P & C
Sunday 19th September, 11.00 am
The annual Greenwich Fun Run is on again.
We need your support to help raise funds for Greenwich School. The route for the fun run/walk is the same as last year starting from Gore Creek Oval and finishing at the Infants' School.
On the completion of the run/walk the P & C will be providing a number of great activities including a jumping castle, rides on mini sports cars, face painting/beauty salon, lucky dip, trash and treasure etc.
There will also be a variety of food stalls including cake stall, BBQ and great coffee. Greenwich Cellars will be providing a free drink for every registered runner/walker that finishes.
Entry forms can be collected from Greenwich Cellars or Greenwich School. Entries to be handed in at the Cellars or School by Friday 17th September, late entries incur an extra $5 fee.
Any non running volunteers to help muster, marshal the course and record the runners at the finish will be welcomed

Teams are now being organised for this great local event.
If you are not the athletic type you may have just thespian talent needed for the stage entertainment each team presents on the Saturday night

WOOLWORTHS SUPERMARKET
Lane Cove Council on 21st June 2004 passed a motion to enter into a financial agreement with Woolworths for the erection of a supermarket, other retail outlets and a car park on the council land in Austen St.
A development Application has been lodged - negotiations with Lane Cove Public School and many others, are continuing.

MARJORIE PROPSTING LIBRARY
Now in its 40th year. New DVDs and music CDs have just arrived for your enjoyment.

WATERBROOK DEVELOPMENT
This major development on the Sunshine Homes site was scheduled for decision by Council on 2nd August, but has been deferred until 6th September.
The main explanation from the Mayor was that the previous notification did not clearly identify all the affected properties, in particular Wisdom Rd.
A number of residents who were attending their first of Council meeting were surprised at the conduct of the meeting.
This proposal is becoming more controversial as time goes on. For instance, the proposal would have a density (or Floor Space Ratio) of 0.97 where the benchmark suggested by the relevant SEPP 5 planning policy is 0.5.
At no time has Council explained why there is support for this development at almost double the recommended benchmark
Other unexplained deviations from SEPP 5 recommendations or limitations include the height of the proposed building.
Traffic during and after construction are also a very pressing problem. It is proposed that trucks used for demolition and excavation leave the site by two of the narrowest roads in the area; Ulonga Ave and Innes Rd.

GREENWICH PHARMACY
Alison and Andrew Grzina, who have looked after the young to the old at the Greenwich Pharmacy since 1995, have left to take a vacation and spend more time with their new family.
Alison and Andrew continued the tradition, established by their predecessor Brian McConaghy, of caring for their customers. We welcome Katharina, who will take over the pharmacy.

YOUTH EVENTS
16 September: Hear our youth debate with Councillors on the topic “Graffiti – Youth Art or Vandalism?”.
24 September: Band Night. Local performers are encouraged to apply.
