A BUSY SUBURB
From the following, Greenwich is truly a busy suburb full of community activities at the moment.
You could never say that Greenwich is a sleepy village.

FOGS.
On 19th September we had the Friends of Greenwich School annual fun run from Gore Creek Oval to the Infants School, with the school fair at the Infants school. The Fun Run had a record of 450 entries of runners, walkers and dogs and raised about $2,800 toward the cost of running the split school sites.
Also present at the fair were representatives of various Greenwich organisation to explain what they are involved in and to contact resident that may be interested in joining in their activities. Many of these organisations have details of their contacts and activities on the Greenwich Community Website, www.greenwich.org.au

ISABELLE HEIM FUND
The Isabelle Heim Fund held its Community Garage Sale and Art Show in the grounds of the Community Centre on election day, 9th October, where the spare assets of the Greenwich homes raised in the order of $7000 for a local disabled resident and other sufferers of cerebral palsy.
Thank you to Sally Charkos, Bill Fox and their band of volunteer residents.
Their next fund raiser will be the New Years Day Champagne Brunch at the La Renaissance in The Rocks.

GREENWICH VILLAGE GAMES
IN the meantime organisation is progressing on the Greenwich Village Games on 4TH AND 5TH DECEMBER at Gore Creek Oval and other sites.
This particularly local event is held each year of the Olympic Games. Teams are the Anarchists, Builders, Commerce, Engineers, Governors, Healers, Lawyers and Tribe. Whatever your family affiliations to the above get your information sheet from the Greenwich Liquor Shop or the www.greenwich.org.au if there is not one with this newsletter and join in the events that suit all members of your family, from toddlers to grandparents.
The Saturday night revue even tests theatrical skills irrespective of your athletic prowess.
The Games is a Greenwich special that is not to be missed.

WATERBROOK APPROVAL
Lane Cove Council reached a new "standard" in its application of discretion in its recent approval of the Waterbrook development on the Sunshine Home site. Where the recommended guideline in the SEPP5 is for a Floor Site Ratio of 0.5:1, Council approved a development with 0.97:1, nearly twice the density recommended. Also, although the Local Environment Plan [Section 9H(1)(e) requires that Council must be satisfied that adequate arrangements have been made for site access before granting approval, it has granted approval knowing that the legality of access to some of the site is in doubt.

BILLY BLUE
Application is still with the outside assessor with no indication of when it may come to Council.
Representations continue to Council from nearby residents and GCA on many highly questionable assumptions in the inflated Development Application.

WOOLWORTHS
Woolworths have now submitted their Development Application for the Austen St site on which they signed a commercial agreement with Lane Cove Council.
This contains a number of non-compliances with the development limitations that were in an earlier independent appraisal of an earlier proposal and which were incorporated in changes to planning documents covering the area
Time for submissions closed on 11/10/04.
