is a suburb of Sydney, NSW, Australia located within the Municipality
of Lane Cove. Greenwich is located on the Lower North Shore
of Sydney Harbour and is within 5 Kilometres of the CBD of Sydney.
It is bounded by the Pacific Highway to the North the North
Shore Railway to the East, Lane Cove Golf Course to the West
and is predominantly surrounded by the Lane Cove River and Sydney
Harbour to the South.
Greenwich has a population of approximately 5000 people with
an average age of around 40 years.
It has a village like atmosphere and is generally considered
a very pleasant and quiet place to live. There is a mixture
of single dwellings, units and townhouses with an office strip
along the Pacific Highway and local retail facilities on Greenwich
Road.
Some of the local facilities include excellent community
services, some of which are provided by the Council and others
which are sponsored by hardworking members of the various
community groups within the area.
The local shopping centre has the following retail outlets:
interior designer, beauty salon, hairdresser, pharmacy, local
supermarket, post office, bottle shop, news agent, cafe/coffee
shop and an antique store. Larger supermarkets and a wider
selection of retail shopping is located at Lane Cove about
4 kilometres to the west or at Crows Nest about 3 Kilometres
